It was announced today that the average cost of car insurance has reached more than £1,000 a year. That's according to data from the AA British insurance premium index. However, when we asked GoCompare.com to provide quotes for 10 cars which sit in the maximum Group 50 insurance rating, the results suggested that shopping around can still provide low-risk motorists with some competitive premiums.
The fully compehensive quotes are based on a 35-year-old male driver who works as a managing director and lives in Cardiff. He has full no-claims entitlement, has never made a claim and doesn't have any motoring convictions.
