We all know that Italy is reknown for good food and incredible scenery and monuments - but did you also know that they have 58 state universities that offer some of the most diverse courses and programs available. Student who study in Italy will also be exposed to a healthcare system that is very diverse. The healthcare in Italy is a mixture of private and public facilities, and some of the public facilities may not be what you would expect with long wait times and basic facilities. However as an international student who is planning to study or visit Italy, the two main visa's that you would be applying for both require proof of international health and travel insurance coverage. Most likely you will be applying for a Schengen Visa (for travel up to 90 days in length) or for a National Visa (which will cover any trips more than 90 days).
